From the type locality for the species, here we have a excellent quality miniature specimen of the classic Brazilianite from Corrego Frio. This piece features good sized, beautiful, fine quality, sharp, classic, gemmy, lustrous yellow green color crystal with minor attached white Albite and no matrix. Brazilianite has been know since the 1940’s at the best specimens from the type locality are still the finest examples of the species extant. This piece is certainly and older specimen based upon the habit and sided, though it is cleaved on the back where it was removed from the pocket wall. The faces of the main crystal are smooth and lustrous (not etched), and the gumminess is certainly above average. That eye-catching yellow-green color is unmistakable, which combined with distinctive habit of the crystal makes for a fine display quality specimen, and this decades old material is highly sought after by collectors.
