Maple Burl Box with African Blackwood
Starting with a Maple Burl. I cut the wood to show a pin pattern on the top. The effect show the pins running down the sides as stripes. The purple dye brings out the soft and hard areas of each pin in how the dye takes to the wood. The lid top was filled by black epoxy before turning. The black seems to marry the African Blackwood band and set off the purple a bit more. Size: 3” tall 3 1/4” wide #0126
